We hold and maintain the highways register, classified roads list and other associated records.
We answer highway related searches including enquiries regarding roads outside properties and those regarding a highway's status, for example whether Amey maintain the road on our behalf.
We also process all permanent road and footpath closures and diversions.

Under section 36 of the Highways Act 1980, we keep a list of all the named streets in the city, in full or in part, maintained at public expense.
