The School Budgets Letter February 2024 will set out the maintained schools' budget settlement for the financial year 2024 to 2025.
This includes early estimates of funding being made available by the Government through the Pupil Premium Grant and the new Teachers Pay Additional Grant.
The Department for Education (DfE) will continue to pay all mainstream school’s rates bills direct. This includes academies, but Nursery Schools are out of scope and should still pay their own rates bill.
Mainstream schools and academies
Mainstream schools will receive a copy of the rates bill. This will be for information only. Please do not pay the rates bill.
Due to a change to previous advice provided by the DfE, academies should pay previous years bills adjustments. They should then claim the funding back through the portal as previously.

The Significant Growth and Falling Rolls Funding Policies will be finalised June this year. It will set out the process and criteria for applying for any additional funding you may be eligible for relating to Basic Need Growth and Falling Rolls.
Policies will be published at a later date along with the list of basic need growth for 2024 to 2025.
