NHS practitioner or carer parking permit
If you are an NHS practitioner or carer you should apply for a separate parking permit.
You can’t use the permit to park in the city centre or Falding Street, Holme Lane, Loxley New Road and Vaughton Hill parking zones
Each permit costs £10 and is valid for a year. You will need to apply for a new permit if you lose your current permit. If you have only lost your timer disc we can send you a new one for £2.50.
How long a permit will last
Permits are issued for up to 12 months. It is your responsibility to ensure your permit is renewed.
Where you can use the permit
You can park in any designated permit bay for 2 hours at a time. A permit does not guarantee you parking directly at an address.
You should make sure both the permit and timer disc are clearly displayed, that the vehicle is not parked in the same space for more than 2 hours and that the arrival time is set accurately.
If the client or patient regularly needs longer care visits, they may be eligible to apply for a resident's carer permit. Clients or patients who require an occasional longer visit may provide a visitor permit.
Carers can only use the permit for carrying out visits to clients or patients, not to park at their workplace or home. You may be fined if you do so.
