Stradbroke is a vibrant learning community with approximately 500 pupils including a 78 place nursery and a 19 place Integrated Resource Unit. The school was inspected at the end of 2022 and was judged as a Good school in every measure. We are now looking to appoint somebody who can help us on our journey to becoming outstanding. We wish to appoint a School Office Manager & PA to the Headteacher to work as a key part of our Senior Leadership team. 

We are looking for somebody with commitment, energy, and enthusiasm and drive to join our team and work closely with staff to provide outstanding admin support to ultimately enhance the learning experience for all our pupils.

The successful candidate will have:

  • expert leadership and management, enhancing the effectiveness and performance, chiefly of the school admin team, to attain exceptional standards: motivating, supporting and managing them effectively and efficiently 
  • the ability to be able to liaise clearly between the Headteacher, senior leaders, teaching staff and support staff 
  • the aptitude to be a confidential personal assistant providing secretarial/clerical support to the Headteacher, to deal with the Headteacher’s correspondence and manage their diary 
  • significant experience in human resources and financial management being able to prepare for budget setting and advise on the school’s financial resources, liaising with bursar services
  • the ability to undertake research and obtain information in order to inform decision making 
  • be able to manage the administration of payroll systems including liaison with the provider
  • well-developed IT skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
  • the ability to manage data in line with UK-GDPR as well as take responsibility for maintaining the Single Central Record 
  • the ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively, delegating tasks where necessary
  • excellent numeracy and communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to respond effectively to staff, families, governors, outside agencies and the general public
  • a flexible approach and be able to adapt to the constantly evolving school environment

It is desirable that the candidate can be in post at some point during the summer term so that there is a successful handover period with the current post holder, who is retiring at the end of the academic year.
