Type of permit you can apply for

You can apply for a paper permit which can be shared by your carers or, if you always have the same carer, you can apply for a virtual permit specific to their vehicle. A virtual permit means they will not need to display a permit when they visit you.

Exceptions

These permits are not available for:

  • city centre
  • Holme Lane
  • Loxley New Road
  • Vaughton Hill schemes
  • developments within parking permit zones that are car free. You should check with your landlord, letting agent or solicitor if your property is car free

Number of permits

You can apply for one permit per household. Contact us if you feel there is a requirement for you to have more than one.

Cost

This permit is free.

How long a permit lasts

Permits are issued for one year. It is your responsibility to ensure your permit is renewed.

You can renew your permit up to 28 days before the expiry date of your existing permit. Should you lose your permit, replacement permits will not be issued and you will need to apply for a new permit.

Where your carer can use the permit

Your carer can park in any designated on street parking space in the zone the permit is for. A permit does not guarantee parking directly at an address.

Your can use your permit to park in the zone you live in or other allowed zones. You may be fined if you park in designated permit parking bays in zones that your permit does not cover.

Apply for a new permit or renew a current permit

Enter your address to see if your carer is eligible for a permit and complete the application form.
