Local Area Committees (LACs) bring local people into the democratic process and closer to decision making. They give you the chance to:
- influence decision making
- share your opinion
- contribute to positive changes in your community
They're your opportunity to say what you would like to see improved in your area.
Committee areas
Sheffield is grouped into 28 areas called wards.
There are 7 Local Area Committees, and each one is made up of 4 wards.
There are three councillors per ward, and they represent you; a resident of that area.
The committees do not include:
- council officers
- representatives of partner organisations
- members of the public
Although, a committee may be involved in a supporting or advisory capacity.
Our LAC microsite features and covers everything there is to do about every LAC in Sheffield. Use to keep with the LACs and to get involved with what happening in your area.
