Sheffield’s Parks & Countryside’s service is responsible for the management, maintenance and development of Sheffield’s parks and recreational green spaces.
We manage 13 city parks, 20 district parks and 50 local parks across Sheffield. You can find your local park by looking at our ‘Parks & green spaces’ page.
We are developing an international reputation for horticultural excellence. This growing success is thanks to our beautiful gardens and floral displays at:

Trees & woodlands in Sheffield
Sheffield boasts some of the finest tree cover, woodlands and countryside in Britain with a third of the city lying in the Peak District National Park, and more woodland cover (over 10%) than any other city in the country as well as over 2 million trees. For further information please see our ‘Trees & Woodland Strategy’.
We ensure the trees are safe and do not cause a hazard to the public. If you would like to report a problem please contact us.
Sheffield’s parks byelaws
Byelaws for "Public Pleasure Grounds in Sheffield" cover many of the city's parks and green spaces. These existing byelaws were fully reviewed, amended and produced in 1966 (partially amended again in 1971) and relate to the powers in the Public Health Act 1875 and Open Spaces Act 1906.
Please download our byelaws document for further information.
