Sheffield has a range of domestic abuse services that offer support for women, children, young people, and men who are experiencing domestic abuse.
Domestic abuse can happen to anyone. It is not your fault. Don’t suffer in silence. You have the right to live your life free from fear, abuse and violence.
Sheffield Domestic Abuse Co-ordination Team
Sheffield Domestic Abuse Co-ordination Team (DACT) works as part of the Safer and Sustainable Communities Partnership to ensure that support is available for women, children, young people, and men who are experiencing domestic abuse.
Help available includes:
- one to one support and support groups
- advice on being safe in your own home and safety equipment
- access to safe places and refuges
- financial advice
- information about your legal options
- housing advice if you need to move
- support to help you think through your options and help you make decisions that are right for you
- advice about the impact on children and how best to support them

Inspire to Change
This is a free programme for men and women over the age of 16 who have been abusive, controlling or violent towards their partner; and who are motivated to make a change in their behaviour and work to improve their relationships.
The course combines learning and support tailored to an individual’s need. has been designed to help participants learn new skills and find ways to manage and control their abusive behaviour. It encourages participants to think and behave more positively to prevent harm to their partner, children and family in the future.
