How to earn learning credits - New guide overview page
Children and young people earn one CU credit per hour of learning by taking part in activities at:
- school during lunchtime, or before / after (if their school subscribes)
- approved activity providers (Learning Destinations) outside of school hours
- by completing Home Learning Challenges
The more children take part, the more credits they earn. The more credits they earn the more awards they get.
Earning credits at subscribed schools
Children earn credits at school activities during lunchtime, before or after-school.
Earning credits at Learning Destinations
Parents must:
- ensure the activity provider signs the child's Passport to Learning (or asks you to fill this in yourself during COVID-19 restrictions)
- add the child's details to the Learning Destination's CU attendance register
For Learning Destinations away from Sheffield
Parents must:
- ensure the activity provider signs the child’s Passport to Learning (or asks you to fill this in yourself during Covid-19 restrictions)
- claim your CU credits online
Learning credit balances
We update the child's learning credits each term. There will be a delay between taking part and receiving the awards.
You can find out your child's current credit balance from:
- the Passport to Learning, or
- the child's school (if it subscribes to the scheme)
