Medieval manuscripts research guide

Sheffield Archives and Sheffield Reference Library have a rich resource of medieval manuscripts with the earliest document in the collections at Sheffield Archives dating from c. 1180. Our Study Guide explains both the types of manuscripts that were produced and how they were made. It also includes details of further reading for those who want to find out more.
