Council transport services

Transport Services' main responsibilities are organising home to school transport for special educational needs and disability (SEND) students and managing / maintaining the council’s vehicle fleet.

Passenger Operations

This area is responsible for organising and managing the home to school transport for SEND students. This includes both the council’s own minibuses and private contractor Taxis. 

Passenger Operations also provide transport for other activities, such as school trips, school swimming lessons and transport for vulnerable adults.

Transport Vehicle Workshops

The workshops are responsible for repairing and maintaining all the vehicles on the council fleet. They are also responsible for carrying out Ministry of Transport (MOT) and compliance tests for all Sheffield City Council licenced taxis. 

Our team of mechanics are trained to carry out vehicle testing as well as a wide range of vehicle maintenance work. They receive regular training and development on new technology.

Transport Fleet Management

Responsible for managing the council’s vehicle fleet and ensuring it is legally compliant. Transport Fleet Management also deal with any issues that involve or impact the council fleet.
