Learning Disability Strategy

We have developed a new Adult Health and Social Care strategy to set out our vision for 2023 to 2030 called Hear Our Voice.

The strategy will help us make the lives of people with a learning disability better. It's about what we think are the most important things to do, who will do them, and when.

We are pleased to share the Hear Our Voice strategy and the plan, which describes some of the actions we intend to take to meet the strategy.

How we developed the strategy

To write the strategy, we spoke with about 500 people with learning disabilities. We also contacted their families, support staff and organisations that pay for services for people with a learning disability in Sheffield. We’ve listened to what people have said, and their feedback has been used to develop the strategy and the plan.

The strategy and plan were formally agreed at our Adult Health and Social Care Policy Committee meeting on 8 November 2023.

We will work with communities and the Learning Disabilities Partnership Board to refresh the plan each year.
