Citizenship Ceremonies

Coronavirus

Citizenship ceremonies are now taking place in a COVID secure environment:

  • up to 12 new citizens are allowed at each ceremony
  • no family or friends are allowed
  • no dignitaries will attend the ceremony

Please do not contact us until you have received your home office invitation letter. Once you have received this please email citizenship@sheffield.gov.uk.

We carry out Citizenship Ceremonies for anyone who was granted British Citizenship after 1 January 2004.

Ceremonies are held in the Town Hall (main entrance) on a weekly basis.

A civic dignitary, such as the Lord Mayor, the Lord Lieutenant of the County or the High Sheriff will give a welcoming speech and will present you with a Naturalisation Certificate.

The ceremony ends with photographs and refreshments.
