Hospital education
If your child is in hospital, wherever possible they will be supported to continue with their education through our team of teachers. The team is based in Sheffield Children’s Hospital but they also teach by arrangement in other Sheffield hospitals and at home where a child is referred after discharge because they are not fit enough to go back to school.
School age girls who are pregnant or new mothers
We also offer a 12 week programme of educational support for pregnant school girls and school age mothers around the time of their baby’s birth.
Referrals of children & young people
Referrals are made by NHS consultants because we work together with medical staff to support the child or young person back to health and reintegrate them in to school as soon as possible. We also receive referrals from the Child and Adolescent Mental Health team for young people with mental health problems.
