The Chief Executive of Sheffield City Council has described the £1.5 billion being awarded to South Yorkshire as part of the Government’s £15 billion for transport projects as “game changing”.
They are some of the city’s best known and much-loved areas, valued for their character and appearance which are given protection through the planning process.
A £2 million economic recovery project aimed at local high streets is about to draw to a close. But an independent evaluation of the project has estimated it has returned multi-million pounds worth of social value back to local communities.
