If you're out of work or unsure what’s next, help is available to build your skills, find training and get back into work.

We offer a range of services to help you build skills, gain confidence, and find a job that’s right for you. Whether you need training, one-to-one coaching, or help managing health or wellbeing challenges, we’re here to support you every step of the way. 

Opportunity Sheffield

This is the council’s employment and skills service. It offers personalised support to help you:

  • access training and learning opportunities
  • build confidence and employability skills
  • overcome barriers and prepare for work
  • apply for jobs or apprenticeships

You may be eligible for help if you:

  • have a disability or long-term health condition
  • are a refugee, care leaver or have a criminal record
  • have low or no qualifications or recent work experience
  • are affected by caring responsibilities, childcare, or poor mental health
  • face language barriers or lack confidence

WorkWell  

WorkWell is a free service that helps people with health conditions or disabilities to stay in or return to work. It’s available to anyone aged 16+ who is:

  • recently unemployed (in the last 0 to 6 months)
  • in work and at risk of leaving due to health or wellbeing needs

Good Work

Good Work is a coaching service designed to help you find a job that’s right for your situation. Your coach will:

  • help you prepare and apply for jobs
  • support you with benefits, debt or wellbeing issues
  • stay in touch once you start your new role to help you settle in
