Exciting plans to turn an area of land, part of which was once the site of the Sheffield Ski Village, into a Country Park in the city has continued following the confirmation of funding from central Government.
Mayor Oliver Coppard alongside leaders of South Yorkshire’s Councils have agreed to introduce bus franchising across the region, taking another element of public transport in Sheffield into public control.
As the old saying goes, ‘you wait for one bus to arrive then two turn up at once’. Well Sheffield City Council can do better than that, with four electric buses set to begin service in the city centre free for passengers to use.
The region’s Music Hubs are set to come together to form a new South Yorkshire Music Hub, with the aim of strengthening opportunities for music education.

A Long-term investment plan which could see measures such as improved pavements and cycle facilities so that more people can walk and cycle more to local destinations will be discussed by the Council’s Transport, Regeneration and Climate Policy Committee next week.
