A series of overnight diversions will be in place for the next three weeks on a section of Sheffield Parkway as essential work takes place to repair bridges at the Handsworth Road interchange.
Mayor Oliver Coppard alongside leaders of South Yorkshire’s Councils have agreed to introduce bus franchising across the region, taking another element of public transport in Sheffield into public control.

The Chief Executive of Sheffield City Council has described the £1.5 billion being awarded to South Yorkshire as part of the Government’s £15 billion for transport projects as “game changing”.
"We support the HS2 East partnership’s report outlining a three-phase approach to deliver improved inter-city and inter-regional connectivity, building on the Integrated Rail Plan’s proposals and at a reduced cost compared to the full eastern leg of HS2".
