Today marks two years since the launch of the final report of Sheffield’s Race Equality Commission. Since then, Sheffield City Council has made consistent progress in tackling race inequality in the council and in the city, with plans going forward that aim to make Sheffield an anti-racist city.
Sheffield and Pittsburgh in the USA have been Sister Cities since 1980. This week a delegation from Sheffield will head to Pittsburgh to strengthen ties, share knowledge and explore future collaboration.
The commission, chaired by Prof Kevin Hylton and including 24 commissioners from across Sheffield, collated detailed evidence of the racism and racial disparities affecting our communities.
