An unveiling ceremony of Sheffield’s new permanent Covid Memorial sculpture took place today, led by the Leader of Sheffield City Council, Councillor Terry Fox and Lord Mayor, Councillor Sioned-Mair Richards.
A memorial event to mark the second annual day of reflection to remember those who have lost their lives to Covid since the pandemic began is due to take place on Sunday 9 March.
An artist has been chosen out of 14 entries to design and construct a permanent city centre Covid memorial sculpture, which will be located in Balm Green Gardens by Spring 2023.
Sheffield City Council will provide an update on its financial position and reaffirm its commitment to ensure a stable and sustainable authority that delivers for the city and its residents, in a report being presented to the Strategy and Resources Committee on 10 July 2025.
The first annual day of reflection to remember those lost to Covid took place at the Covid Memorial willow tree sculpture in Balm Green Gardens on Sunday 3rd March.
