Sheffield has once again won a national award for the City Centre Evening & Night-Time Economy that recognises it as a safe and enjoyable place to go for a night out. An award it has held and renewed on an annual basis since 2012.
People in Sheffield are being asked to help choose names for the city’s fleet of gritters but with a local twist, as preparations for the upcoming winter season get underway.
Around 4000 school children were part of a litter education session during the last academic year and Streets Ahead are continuing to deliver their assemblies on reducing litter across the city.
From Tuesday 20 August some bin collections in Sheffield will be affected by a Veolia refuse collectors strike. Residents are asked to put their bins out before 7am on their scheduled collection day and leave them out until they are collected.
The newly named fleet of Streets Ahead gritters have been working hard over the last four days making sure the roads of Sheffield were kept clear of ice and snow following the recent wintery weather.
