Over the past 13 years, Sheffield, along with many other local authorities, has seen significant reductions in funding from central government. Alongside this, demand for services is rising.
From Monday 29 July to Friday 2 August, some bin collections in Sheffield will be affected by a Veolia refuse collectors strike. Veolia and the Council’s waste management team are working together to make sure there is as little disruption as possible.
Sheffield City Council is making great strides to transform travel in the city, with a number of exciting projects underway creating high-quality, convenient and safer routes for cycling, walking and public transport.
To support people with increasing living costs, the council set up a package of support last year to help anyone in the city who is facing financial hardship.
From Tuesday 20 August some bin collections in Sheffield will be affected by a Veolia refuse collectors strike. Residents are asked to put their bins out before 7am on their scheduled collection day and leave them out until they are collected.
