Horticultural experts visit Sheffield’s ‘interesting’ and ‘vibrant’ allotments and community gardens

Fruit, vegetable and herb experts share their knowledge with local growers across Sheffield.

A team of experts from the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) have been sharing their growing knowledge during a visit to a selection of the city’s allotments and community gardens.

The RHS Fruit, Vegetable and Herb Expert Group provide an invaluable source of horticultural expertise.

For the past 10 years, they have visited allotment sites all over the UK sharing their knowledge and contributing expertise to local communities.

Last weekend, the team headed to Sheffield, which has over 3,000 allotment plots across 79 sites.

They offered robust and practical advice to the communities they visited, which included Roe Wood Allotment, Parsons Cross Family Garden, Highcliffe Community Allotment, Archer Lane Allotments Pavillion and allotments in Woodseats, Hagg House, Walkley, Rivelin Valley, Heeley and Meersbrook.
