Residents, workers, and visitors to Sheffield city centre will soon be able to enjoy a sauna, ice bath, and a Scandinavian-style café experience, as another exciting business announces they are moving into the Council’s Heart of the City development.

Güs (@gus.wellness) will be opening their first location in the former Sunday School building at 34 Cambridge Street this winter, offering a range of unguided and guided sauna and ice bath experiences. Güs will also be home to a Scandi-style café, giving people a space to relax and unwind.

Güs is the latest addition to the increasingly popular Heart of the City project, which has transformed a large area of the city centre, creating food, beverage, and entertainment areas, high-quality office space, and residential apartments right in the centre of the city.

From the very outset we wanted to make sure our Heart of the City development was going to offer something different, something of high quality and something that would drive people into the city centre. Welcoming Güs to the project shows that we are achieving just that.

This new unit will mark the first facility the company has opened and is a big vote of confidence not only for the Heart of the City project but also the city centre as a whole. It also shows that the Council is taking seriously the task of ensuring our heritage buildings are kept and used again as much as possible. People are coming back to the city centre to see the fantastic changes we have made and are continuing to make and Güs will give them another reason to do so.

Cllr Ben Miskell, Chair of the Transport, Regeneration and Climate Policy Committee at Sheffield City Council

Güs is all about bringing a fresh approach to wellness in Sheffield, and we've found the perfect home in the historic Sunday School building—a beautiful blend of old character and new design. This isn't just about offering a new service; it's about creating a true community space. Our unguided and expertly guided sessions, which include sauna and ice bath experiences, are designed for everyone, while our café, which champions local suppliers, provides a perfect place to unwind. The fit-out is already underway, and we can’t wait to welcome you this winter. Follow our journey and get exclusive behind-the-scenes updates on Instagram at @gus.wellness!”
