Sheffield City Council would like to wish everyone the best of luck in achieving what they hoped for.
The Council also wishes to praise our schools and students for their hard work preparing for the exams that will help so many realise their dreams of what they wish to do next in their lives.
“I would like to wish good luck to all those opening up their results today. I hope you all achieved what you set out to do.
“We know you have all worked incredibly hard in the run up to the exam period and we hope you all get rewarded.
“Results day can be an exciting but stressful time for many young people across Sheffield and I’d like to thank parents and carers, teachers, school governors and support staff for playing such a vital role in helping them.”
Cllr Dawn Dale, Chair of the Education, Children and Families Policy Committee
The Council realises not all who sat their A-Level results this year will get the grades they had hoped for.
These people may now be looking at different paths forward to the one they had planned for.
There is plenty of support available for those who may find themselves in that position today. Your school pastoral team or academic leads will help you assess your options. That could be re-sitting an exam or appealing against a grade.
For those who wish to continue their studies in higher education but might not be able to take the course they had hoped for, there is also the University Clearing service. This can be accessed by going to their website.
“I know that those who don’t quite get the grades they want today will be feeling a huge amount of disappointment. There are options available to you, and you can still find the right path to where you want to be.
“I’d like to wish all of Sheffield’s students the very best as they plan ahead for their future.”
Cllr Dawn Dale, Chair of the Education, Children and Families Policy Committee
