Council statement on attack at Heaton Park Synagogue in Manchester

We are shocked and appalled at the deeply distressing incident at Heaton Park synagogue in Manchester earlier today. 

Our thoughts are with the victims and their families, and the whole Jewish community on their sacred day. 

We have reached out to community leaders in the city to offer our support and will continue to work with South Yorkshire Police, SY Mayoral Combined Authority, our Partners in the Race Equality Partnership and in our communities to support those impacted and ensure our residents feel safe, respected, and valued.
