Rural Roads

Surfacing of the rural roads around Wharncliffe Side is now nearing completion (see map below for roads affected).  Bents Hill Lane and Raynor Sike Lane remain outstanding.  Surfacing of all remaining rural roads along with verge backfill to correct level changes and soil reinstatement is due to be completed by Christmas 2016.

Due to the type of equipment needed, the resurfacing of Acre Lane, Walders Lane and Bank Lane (at Bolsterstone) will now be part of the B10-Oughtibridge zone with works due to start early 2017.

As these are rural roads, the signed diversions are lengthy as the roads being used for all traffic diversions are limited.  Regular checks are made by our traffic management teams to ensure all signage is in place.

Our works are heavily dependent on weather and can be affected by unforeseen circumstances.  It may be necessary to change the schedule at short notice.  If this happens, the temporary on-street signs displayed in the area will be updated.

Sorry for any inconvenience these works may cause but we believe the long term benefits of the newly resurfaced roads will outweigh the short term disruption.
