Upperthorpe Streets Ahead roadworks and upgrades (zone A16 & B36)

The Upperthorpe Zone is on the west side of the city centre.

The area consists of major arterial routes from the University Roundabout along Netherthorpe Road towards Shalesmoor and onto Infirmary Road.

The zone also includes Upperthorpe Road, Addy Street onto Crookesmoor Road, Crookes Valley Road and stopping at Common Side.

Works currently taking place in the Upperthorpe area includes:

Parking restrictions and road closures will often be in place whilst we carry out the work. Please make sure to look out for the signs.

Works are now complete in the zone. 

We are currently carrying out snagging/remedial works across the zone.  These will be completed before Christmas.

Street lighting

Due to resource issues in another part of the city these works have been delayed and will take place from the end of November 2016 until March 2017. 

We apologise for the delay and any inconvenience this may cause. For more information on the street lighting upgrades.

Kerbs

Works to damaged kerbs will start in the New Year.

Pavements

Resurfacing works will start in February 2017 with roads starting in late Autumn.

We will be holding a Roadshow nearer the time of resurfacing works.
