South Yorkshire Archaeology Service organises an Archaeology Day in November each year. The day provides a unique opportunity for people to hear about recent archaeological projects from the archaeologists involved.
Archaeology Day 2013 was a great success and was enjoyed by all that attended. A download of the talk given by Shaun Richardson (EDAS Ltd), on the preparation of an evaluation strategy for the Castle Markets site - known to have been built on the site of Sheffield castle - is now available as a download at the bottom of this page.
We hope Archaeology Day 2014 will be just as popular. Saturday 22nd November 2014 has been provisionally identified as the date for the next event. This will be confirmed later this year along with details of any talks and presentations to take place.
The day usually sells out in advance so you will need to book in advance. You can receive early notification of the event by joining our mailing list. If you wish to be added to the mailing list for the event contact us. That way you will get sent details and a booking form as soon as they have been finalised each year.
