As part of our work to make planning more business friendly, we are one of the first local authorities in the country to receive Government approval and formally adopt a Local Development Order (LDO).
The LDO will make it easier for businesses to set up in the Enterprise Zone by waiving planning fees and essentially giving up-front planning permission for uses which support the Sheffield City Region Enterprise Zone.
The LDO covers the Europa Link area of the city, which forms a key part of the Enterprise Zone:
The LDO available below sets out the types of development and sizes of buildings that are expected on the site. Buildings that meet these requirements can be developed without the need for a planning application, which will speed up development and encourage investment to take place.
The aim is to encourage buildings that will be used for modern manufacturing and technology.
Local Development Order adopted in April 2012 and updated in February 2015.
If you are planning a development which is LDO compliant, please fill in the Self Certification Form below and send it to us with any required supporting documentation.
For further advice, please contact us on 0114 2039183 or email email@example.com
If we agree that your scheme is LDO compliant, we will send you a letter of conformity within 28 days. Should you proceed with the development, you will need to complete and return the Commencement Notice below to enable us to monitor the development.
The Sheffield City Region has also agreed a simplified planning approach to all areas of the Enterprise Zone that is set out in a Memorandum of Understanding which is under the Agreements with Key Delivery Partners section of their website.
