Strategic Flood Risk Assessment

Sheffield’s current Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) was completed in July 2008.  It collates all known sources of flooding in the city and delineates areas that have ‘low’, ‘medium’ or ‘high’ probability of flooding.

These are shown on a series of maps covering the city.  It also recommends land uses for each area and appropriate mitigation measures as necessary.

Due to improved modelling work undertaken by the Environment Agency since the publication of the SFRA, some of the boundaries of the medium and high probability areas have changed.

If your site falls in or close to a medium or high probability area, please contact Ellie Roden on 0114 273 5897 to check the most up to date classification.
