Gillfield Wood


Gillfield Wood is an ancient woodland following Totley Brook in Totley.  It borders the Peak District National Park in the south west of the city, approximately 5.5 miles from Sheffield City Centre. 

The site can be accessed from the A621 Baslow Road or Mickley Lane.

Facilities and features

Gillfield Wood is 16.5 hectares and is designated as a local woodland.  It has a range of features:

  • Public Right of Way along its length
  • Car park at western end
  • Picnic benches



Public transport details are available from Travel South Yorkshire.

For directions by foot or bicycle go to Sheffield - walkit.

There is a car park at the western end off the A621 Baslow Road.

Gillfield Wood is a Sheffield Standard site, which means that at its last inspection it was considered to be Safe, Clean, Welcoming and Accessible.
