We are Opportunity Sheffield - the employment and skills service in Sheffield City Council.
We help create job opportunities and break down barriers to employment, and help local businesses grow and develop a skilled workforce. We also give advice about financial incentives to employers for creating vacancies and apprenticeships.
Last year we engaged with over 4000 individuals and helped 2000 people get into work. Our programmes include ESF Pathways, the 100 Apprenticeship Scheme, Talent Sheffield and The Building Block.
We work with businesses of all sizes and from all sectors – giving them advice and helping upskill their workforce.

We support people who are seeking jobs, apprenticeships, traineeships and work experience, helping to create employment and training opportunities.
We'll help anyone who may face a barrier getting in to work. This includes people with disabilities, physical or mental health issues, criminal records, skills deficits or lacking work experience.
ESF Pathways Programme
In partnership with the European Social Fund, Opportunity Sheffield offers free 1-2-1 keyworker support to help local unemployed people towards and into work.
If you are 18+, unemployed, live in Sheffield and have the right to live and work in the UK, you can register for our ESF Pathways Programme.
N.B. Unfortunately we cannot help full-time students secure part-time jobs

We offer expert assistance to Sheffield employers, by providing specialist help to access, nurture and retain skilled employees. We work with businesses seeking to expand and develop in Sheffield.
