Request your PIN

A Personal Identification Number (PIN) is required to request an item or view the ‘My Account’ section of our online library catalogue.

A PIN gives the user the security of knowing that no other member of the public can access their personal details or request items in their name.

You can request a PIN either in person from any public library in Sheffield, by telephoning 0114 273 4727 or fill in our PIN request form.

Use any library

To borrow books and other items you need to be a library member. You can become a member by going to any local library, the Central Library, or any Mobile Library.

You do not have to be a member to use the Reference & Information Library and the Local Studies Library. If you just wish to browse our collections, or sit and read you do not have to be a library member.
