One of our strengths at Netherthorpe is the diversity of the community we serve. Our children love coming to school and share a passion for learning. The majority speak an additional language – at any one time there are approximately 20 different languages spoken across school. This creates rich and exciting learning opportunities for the whole school community.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced, and well organised person who can work alone and as part of a team. This is a new position that will be mainly based on the reception in our Sports Hall, though will include cover of main reception and other duties as laid out. We require a person with good organisational skills who can work on their own initiative whilst maintaining a team perspective, maintain confidentiality and have the ability to work flexibly under pressure to meet the workload demand.

The successful candidate will need:

•    Good communication skills and be able to undertake administrative tasks including photocopying, filing, emailing etc.

•    To be able to communicate effectively with visitors/parents/staff and to be approachable, courteous and be able to present a positive image of the school to parents and visitors.

•    To be able to assist with arrangements for school trips and visits.

•    To be able to undertake word-processing and other IT based tasks and administration of school meals and registers, maintaining manual and computerised information systems e.g. SIMs and to be able to produce lists/information and data as required.

•    To be able to undertake financial administration of the collection of dinner monies for school meals and trips and relevant administrative/ICT procedures relating to these.

•    To be able to undertake telephone and reception duties with a polite/courteous manner and to be able to relate information as required with appreciation of the need for confidentiality.

•    To be able to undertake first day response for attendance.
