The Governing Body of Halfway Junior School is looking to appoint a confident, flexible and energetic Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our enthusiastic and talented team as soon as possible. The successful applicant will be a highly motivated professional, dedicated to providing a high level of teaching support across school, working in partnership with classroom teachers, running specific interventions and providing regular cover across school.

Halfway Junior School is a two-form entry Junior School located at the heart of our community in the south of Sheffield. We have high expectations for all our children and are committed to ensuring they are not only ready for the next step in their education, but also able to positively contribute to their communities. We want our pupils to be confident in their own abilities and resilient when faced with challenges. We want them to understand they are unique and special. But most importantly, we want them to be happy – empowered to be the best that they can be.

This post is suitable for experienced or recently qualified candidates.

•    Knowledgeable and skilled in supporting all children to access their learning in the classroom
•    Able to manage and deliver structured intervention packages
•    Demonstrate effective feedback for pupils, both orally and written.
•    An active and supportive member of the class and school team
•    A positive role-model for our children
•    Able to be flexible, responsive and proactive to change 
•    Willing to contribute to school life outside of the classroom.
