Are you keen to take on a new challenge, and have a ‘positive can-do attitude’ which will enhance our dynamic team?  Mossbrook School is a split site school which educates and cares for primary aged pupils who have a range of learning difficulties and disabilities including Autism. We are looking for a buildings officer to start in April 2024 and who is up for working in a challenging, forward thinking school. You will be responsible for:

•    Day to day maintenance of both school sites: Bochum Parkway (S8 8JR) and Chancet Wood (S8 7TR). This will include advising the leadership team on priority tasks, sourcing quotes and overseeing any works carried out.
•    Ensuring that both sites are compliant with fire, asbestos and legionella guidance and law. This will include carrying out all necessary statutory checks
•    Maintaining the school swimming pool
•    Site security to include opening/locking up
•    Recruiting and line management of an assistant caretaker
•    Line management of cleaning staff

All necessary training will be provided.

The hours worked each day are to be agreed with the successful candidate. There are 3 options available:
1)    7am to 3pm
2)    10am to 6pm
3)    Split shift – 7-11am and 2-6pm

The successful candidate has the option to live onsite in the caretaker house where rent is payable to the school.
