Voting by post

If you would prefer to return your ballot paper by post rather than going to the polling station you must apply for a postal vote. 

Apply for a postal vote

You can apply to vote by post:

  • for a single election on a specific date
  • permanently
  • for a specific period

Download and print the postal vote registration form, then complete it and sign it by hand. You can then send a scanned copy by email to electoralservices@sheffield.gov.uk or post the completed form to:

The deadline to apply for a postal vote for the polls on 6 May 2021 is 5pm on Tuesday 20 April. You must also be registered to vote by midnight on Monday 19 April.

If you’re too late to post your ballot paper

Take it to your local polling station before it closes.

Replacement ballot papers

Contact us to request a replacement ballot paper.

If you spoiled your ballot paper, bring:

  • the spoiled paper
  • the rest of the ballot pack that was sent to you

You can get a replacement for a lost or spoiled ballot paper up to 5pm on polling day.
