Sheffield Young Advisors
We work to improve the lives of young people by making policies, services and documents young-people friendly and understandable.
Sheffield Youth Council
We are 29 young people of different backgrounds and abilities from across all 7 Community Assemblies.
There are 14 democratically elected Youth Councillors who represent their peers at a citywide level for a 2-year term and 12 special interest seats to ensure that all young people are represented.
The special interest seats are made up from young people who associate themselves with the following vulnerable communities: young people with disabilities, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, young carers, young people with care experience, young refugees and asylum seekers, and young people from the black minority ethnic community.
Sheffield UK Youth Parliament
We are 6 young people from across the city; democratically elected every 2 years to represent their concerns and issues to decision-makers locally, regionally and nationally and to campaign on their behalf to influence change.
Every 2 years, 2 young people are elected from the north, east and west of the city, one as a Member of Youth Parliament (MYP) and the other as a Deputy Member of Youth Parliament (DMYP). The young people nominate themselves as candidates and stand for election.
