You can be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice for a breaking any of the rules set out in The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020.
If you have been issued a penalty, we believe you have committed a criminal offence under the regulations.
Pay a penalty notice
If you pay the fixed penalty notice, there will be no further action taken to convict you of a criminal offence.
You have 28 days from the date of the notice to make your payment. If you fail to pay the penalty within that time, criminal proceedings may be taken against you and you could be summoned to court.
To pay your fine:
- your penalty notice letter will tell you how much you need to pay
- you will need the FPN number on your penalty notice to make a payment
