We are reviewing road markings outside schools, such as the ‘School Keep Clear’ zigzags, to make sure they are appropriate and enforceable.

Bradway Primary School

The existing School Keep Clear markings at Bradway Primary School do not comply to current standards. We propose that they will be removed and replaced, as shown on the plan below, using a Traffic Regulation Order. They will be replaced by a combination of:

  • a double yellow line with a 'No Waiting & No Loading At Any Time' restriction
  • a single yellow line, on the residential side of the road, with a 'No Waiting Monday to Friday 8am to 9.30am & 2.30pm to 4pm' restriction.

Signs will be erected next to the markings to enable enforcement. All other existing restrictions are unaffected.

These new markings would have a higher enforcement status than the current zigzags.

A Traffic Regulation Order is a legal process. No additional lengths of parking restrictions can be added to the proposal.

If we receive objections to the proposals we will see if any changes can be made to address the concerns. Should this not be possible, the Cabinet Member for Infrastructure and Transport will make a decision on how to proceed.
