As a local authority we have a statutory duty to ensure sufficient early education and childcare provision for working parents and those in education or training. This duty applies to parents of children aged 0 to 14, or up to 18 where their child has special educational needs and disabilities.
The government currently offers funding for childcare providers of between 15 and 30 hours childcare per week for eligible 2, 3 and 4 year olds.
