Our Access Officer for disabled people provides advice on all aspects of physical access for disabled people to the city's environment to ensure compliance with the Disability Equality Act 2010.
Advice we provide
- development proposals (eg planning, building regulation and licensing applications)
- access to public buildings
- general access advice throughout the city
Other work includes preparation of policies and design guidance on access, for example our Access Policies and the Disability Design Standards.
Access Liaison Group
We also facilitate the Access Liaison Group, a group, which ensures that disabled people can have a fair input on changes across the city.
