An exciting opportunity has come up in Sheffield City Council’s Fostering Service for a placement team manager. If you are keen, enthusiastic and ambitious to promote best outcomes for children in care by working with in-house fostering service and commissioned services to find local family based care for children that provides best value and better outcomes, this could be the job for you.
We are looking for a dedicated and committed worker who, with the wider fostering team management, will take a lead role in the fostering service area, portfolio and corporate projects, including sufficiency, which enable the Local Authority to meet key national targets, priorities and initiatives.
The successful candidate will manage the in-house and commissioned placements service for children needing foster care working with a small but committed placements team. Your role will include developing this service which has been without permanent first line management for some time. If successful and with your team, you will manage the arrangements for commissioning services when in-house provision cannot be found, including the contracting and monitoring arrangements.
