An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for the Fostering Service in the recruitment team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, qualified and registered Social Worker to join a team of assessing social workers to recruit, train and assess potential foster carers for the service.

You will be joining a dedicated team committed to ensuring that safe and suitable foster carers are recruited across the city.

You will be part of a rota to support the team delivering information to potential foster carers at our monthly Information Evenings held in the city.  As part of the team you will undertake initial home visits to people interested in fostering and make an initial assessment on their suitability to progress to the assessment stage of their fostering journey.  You will co-deliver the preparation to foster training and feedback to the management team about applicant’s suitability.

As an assessing social worker you will undertake fostering assessments and present these assessments to the fostering panel.  You will work alongside fostering social workers from the supervisory teams to ensure a timely transfer of the foster carers following panel.

A relevant social work qualification is essential; you must have HCPC registration and a commitment to ongoing training and development.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service form in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and the Police Act Regulations.
