Private Housing Standards Landlord Awards 2019

After two successful years of the Sheffield City Council Landlord Awards, we're back this year with a bigger and better event on 12 September 2019. We have listened to the feedback from last year’s attendees, nominators and sponsors and have made improvements to what was already a fantastic event.

We want your nominations

We want you to nominate your landlords and agents. The ones that go above and beyond, that provide great homes in our city, that provide excellent customer service or that do something a little different, like committing to being a greener landlord.

If your landlord or agent fits the bill then please get nominating! You can read the award categories and download the form to submit your nomination.

Send a completed form with your nominee to Fiona Wain at Sheffield City Council by email at phs@sheffield.gov.uk or post it to:

Private Sector Housing, 11th Floor East, Moorfoot Building, The Moor, Sheffield, S1 4PL

If you have any questions please contact Fiona Wain on 01142734680. The deadline for nominations is 12 July 2019.

Rules for nominations

There are rules regarding the nomination process:

  • incentives. Nominees are allowed to offer an incentive, such as a free prize draw or selecting a winner from the people who nominated them to attend the event with them. We cannot except nominations from people who have been given a money incentive, such as a voucher or cash
  • checks on people making nominations. We will randomly select a group of nominators to follow up with and ensure they are genuine tenants of the landlord or agent they have nominated
  • checks on shortlisted landlords and agents. We will want to visit the properties of the shortlisted nominees. We will contact the landlord or agent and arrange to visit the properties they have been nominated for, or a selection of these properties if they are a larger landlord or agent
  • any landlord or agent who has Fit and Proper concerns with the Private Housing Standards team at Sheffield City Council, or has a conviction relating to the Private Rented Sector, will be discounted at the nomination stage
  • we reserve the right to remove any nominations we feel do not meet the criteria of the category they have been nominated for, or if we have had previous complaints about the landlord or agent in question
  • all nominees and nominations will be checked by an independent panel made up of people from the Private Housing Standards Team, an independent student, an independent representative from the Council and 3 members from partner agencies
