Parent Childcare Survey

The Childcare Survey is for parents and carers of children all ages, whether you use childcare or not.

The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, depending on the age and circumstance of your children.

Survey results

The results of this survey will be shared on our website, but will also inform how we plan for childcare demand across the city.  We will use the results to update our Childcare Sufficiency Assessment and when talking to childcare providers.

You may have completed The Sheffield Parent's Survey earlier this year.  That survey indicated the following:

  • Three quarters of parents use childcare in some form or other.
  • Nearly all of those parents use childcare to enable them to work or study.
  • About 1 in 5 had some difficulty finding childcare.
  • The main concerns raised were the cost of childcare and finding flexible cover for work hours, especially in school holidays.

The new Childcare Survey looks at your needs and concerns in more detail.

For parents of children 3 and under, there are some questions about the 30 Hours Free Childcare offer that we have been given by the Department for Education.  We will share the answers to those questions with them.
