Council Tax is a charge on a household property.
The money we receive from Council Tax, together with Government grants and other fees and charges enables us to provide benefits and services for the whole community.
How we spend the money we're allocated.
Properties are placed into 1 of 8 bands which is determined by their market value as of 1st April 1991. About bands and your bill.
Council Tax bills are issued on the assumption that there are 2 or more adults living in the property.
In certain circumstances, however, some people are not counted when working out the number of occupiers so there maybe discounts and exemptions.
For example, if you are the only occupier you can claim a 25% Single Person Discount.
