The Walking for Purpose project offers people the opportunity to gain new skills whilst being active through walking. We will meet you at a local venue where our friendly, approachable team will walk with you to different training providers or workplaces. Walking for Purpose is open for anyone who is unemployed, over the age of 16 and is free to attend.
We are currently working with organisations including Reach South Sheffield, Tinsley Forum and Zest. Participants have attended workshops delivered by Voluntary Action Sheffield, Learn Direct and the Suit works. If any organisations or businesses would like to be involved in the project, please get in touch.
Thank you to the Health Trainers, Community Support workers, Learn Direct and Job Centres across the city who are referring participants into the project. If you know anyone who would benefit from the project please contact us for more information on how to refer into the project.
Walks take place on the following days:
- Wednesdays at Newfield Green Library
- Thursdays at Tinsley Forum
- Fridays at Sheffield Town Hall (City Centre)
All our walks start at 10.00 am and finish at approximately 12 noon.
