Cartoon Festival

As part of a Visual Literacy Festival initiated by the Association of Senior Children’s and Education Libraries, with funding by the Arts Council, Sheffield Libraries will be hosting a series of cartoon workshops. The aim of the festival is to engage children who struggle with the written word and help them discover stories in different formats.

Ed Syder and Bambos Georgiou are well know cartoon artists. Bambos is a comic book expert with over thirty years experience and is the founder of the Sheffield Comics Network, a meet-up for comic creatives and enthusiasts. Ed is an illustrator working mainly in pen and ink. He’s drawn and written comics, art directed a series of books and exhibited his paintings in the UK and USA. Both Ed and Bambos worked with us during the summer and hosted a series of really successful workshops.

All of these activities are free and are suitable for children aged 7-11 years of age. Places are limited and so you'll need to book them through the library the event is held at.  Workshops will be taking place at the following libraries.
